Smoking/Tobacco Policy

On December 5, 2017, Metropolitan Tulsa Transit Authority (MTTA) Board of Directors approved the adoption of a new Smoke Free and Tobacco-Free Policy. This policy is effective as of January 1, 2018.

To preserve the health of employees and the public, Tulsa Transit has designated the two hub stations, Denver Avenue and Memorial Midtown, as smoke-free and tobacco-free. Smoking and all tobacco products, as well as electronic cigarettes are prohibited on these properties. Smoking shall include the inhaling, exhaling, burning, or carrying of any lighted cigarette, cigar, other tobacco product, synthetic materials, marijuana, or illegal substance.

“The policy will help improve our customer’s experience with a healthier and cleaner environment, ” said Ted Rieck, Tulsa Transit’s General Manager.
